We thought Claro de Luna was an excellent place to stay! The host, Sebastien, is really welcoming. Everything went great. It's about a 30 minute walk to the beach but there are a lot of excellent restaurants a short walk away. The kitchen in the apartment worked out well for us. The neighborhood was fairly quiet and seemed safe.
The hotel owner Sebastian is great host and accommodating to all guests needs. He knows Playa del Carmen very well and can guide you where to find things and what to do. Plus there is also a very nice outdoor pool.
I can’t speak highly enough of Claro de Luna and the experience my husband and I had here. It’s a beautiful apart-hotel about 20 mins walk from the centre of Playa del Carmen. The accommodation is fabulous- we had a beautiful clean suite with balcony overlooking the pool. The shower was the best with superb pressure and plenty of hot water. We had our own kitchen and dining area too. What made Claro de Luna so special was the care we received from Sebastien and Crystelle (I hope I’ve spelled your name correctly!) we were just so impressed with these guys they just put themselves out to help us all the time. Crystelle is an incredible seamstress and repaired a lace top I’d clumsily put my fingers through. I’m not sure she even charged me for this tbh. Sebastien is really attentive. I messaged him to ask when I could collect our laundry and the next minute he had brought it to our door. He also gave us great restaurant recommendations and even called to make reservations for us if he thought we might not get a table. You will not find a better place to stay in Playa del Carmen. It’s really safe too - it’s fully gated and the security here is 100% spot on. They also have a beautiful little cat called Lou who we fell in love with. I would not hesitate in recommending Claro de Luna to anyone. It’s a beautiful place and we were a little sad to leave. Thank you Sebastien and Crystelle for your incredible hospitality.
Great place to stay when on a budget. The view from the street does not show what is inside. Immaculately clean room! Fully equipped kitchen with oven and everything you need to cook. The bathroom was extremely clean and the towels were soft and smelled lovely. Bed was very comfortable. My room had two air conditioners and very fast star link WiFi. It also has a lovely pool. Sebastian was a great, friendly host and really looked after him. The accommodation is close to the hospital in a safe area. Very local. I will definitely stay here again!
The host Sebastién was very attentive and helpful to us! This place is recommended for solo travelers, couples, and families! The studio was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The location is great! Quiet neighborhood with a good variety of shops and transportation. We did everything on foot and felt safe.

Loved staying here! Our one-bedroom serviced apartment was spacious and clean, the pool was warm and inviting for both daytime and evening refreshment and relaxation, and our hosts were extremely kind, helpful, and thoughtful. We hope to return to Playa and will definitely stay here again!
Loved this place so much! It's not far from the PDC centre but very quiet, super clean. The beds are so comfy, and it even has a pool! The host is awesome, gives great tips, and is ready to help with anything you need! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Playa del Carmen
